Brilliant TV – not much different to the C8000,
We opted for this rather than the newer C8000 because the spec didn’t have anything significant to justify the extra money. The surrounding frame also looks better as it’s thinner.
The image of this LED is fantastic. We got Sky HD one week before this telly arrived and the picture was miles better than my Panasonic plasma (which was pretty good).
The only thing I can think of that lets this TV down (a tiny little bit) is the arrangement of the sockets. For some reason they have placed the HDMI sockets so close to the edge that a thick or stiff cable can be seen sticking out from behind the unit. The solution to this is to buy HDMI cables with the 90 degree end. This is ok if you want to spend money on replacing the cables you already have – or know before you buy the telly.
Also, the aerial socket seems to be different to every other TV I’ve owned and a standard plug won’t fit it. I still haven’t figured out what I need.
The reason for the little problem is the thinness of the TV. It’s so thin it’s almost unbelievable. And because of this it’s also very, very light.
I bought the telly in a bundle with two pairs of 3D glasses, a 3D Bluray DVD player, and £150 cashback (Oct 2010).

Perfect,
I too dithered between this and the 8-series, but couldn’t work out what the difference was. I am delighted with this television. The quality of the HD picture is staggering. I find the perfect viewing distance is about 6′, for me. 3D is interesting but a bit of a gimmick at the moment. Note contrary to what the description says, mine came with one set of 3D glasses. I can’t comment on the sound because I route it through an AV amp. I was so impressed I ordered the Samsung Blu-ray player the next day, and that surpassed my expectation too. It’s a TV of beauty too; amazingly light and thin, and is a joy to look at. It was easy to assemble the stand, then I switched it on and it set itself up. Nice remote too.

Great LED 3D TV,
I bought this TV last week after many nights of checking out what was out there offer in the 3D TV world.
First thing you notice when you open the box is just how thin it is, I mean, “really thin”. Next would be the design it is nothing short of beautiful with its sleek look, brushed titanium and glass surround with light up samsung logo which also plays a little tune every time you turn the TV on or off.
From a picture quality perspective; I went into a store and tried out the 3D specs on monsters Vs aliens which is the only true 3D movie at the moment but experience is amazing. If you have been to a 3D IMAX movie like Avatar you will know what I mean. depth of colour and brigtness was great even with the light comming in the shop door onto the TV screen. THe 3D specs are comfortable, stylish and cover your eyes in a way that you can really immerse yourself in the experience.
I also tried the 3D demo of Motor Storm on the PS3 which was a lot better than I expected. It really immerses you in the gaming experience more than 2D gaming ever could.
I have heard some bad write-ups on the sound quality from the Samsung but to be honest if you are buying a TV of this price and quality you are going to want to have the Samsung 3D bluray surround system to go with it. The sound from the TV itself is as good as I have seen in similar priced other brand 3D TV’s.
The only slight little negative which makes my rating 4* and not 5* is the fact that all the inputs are on the side of the TV rather than underneath. As you are all aware the higher end HDMI & optical calbles are really quite thick and heavy. Whe I plugged my four devices in I noticed that the weight of the calbles are pulling at the ports when I try and tuck the cables behind the TV. This feels like a bit of a schoolboy error to me.
to conclude, this Samsung is a great mid to hi end priced TV which I’m sure you will not be dissapointed with. If I were you I’d buy it. :)

For a Superb TV look no further!,
I purchased this from Amazon after cancelling my order for the same item from Pixmania.
Ok it cost a little more, but after being messed about by pixmania, I knew that from Amazon i’d get quick delivery.
I wasn’t disappointed, I ordered on a monday evening and received on the wednesday.
Once I got home and plugged it in I was flabbergasted at the display, the crispness of the images even on Standard Def is amazing. Put in a blu-ray or an HD channel and you actually feel like you are there watching it being filmed.
The TV itself is gorgeous. I wanted a TV without the standard black finish, and the titanium look of this one fitted the bill, it looks stunning.
The manual is a bit daunting but the connections on the back are easily accessible and it was fairly straightforward connecting everything up. Within 5 minutes I was up & running and enjoying the fantastic picture.
Couple of gripes (and these are only me being pedantic).
1) Standard HDMI cables stick out of the side of the tv (as one reviewer has already mentioned). Therefore i’ve had to fork out for some angle head cables.
2) When you switch on the TV it plays an annoying little tune that I cannot seem to disable.
3) When you switch on the TV it defaults to the ‘aerial’ channel. If like me you have sky then you connect via the HDMI. The TV turns on and looks for an aerial and then produces an error message saying it cannot find any channels. You then have to manually switch sources to get to the HDMI channel.
These gripes are only minor though and the quality of the TV more than makes up for it!
In short, this has got to be the best TV i’ve ever owned. If you are looking for a quality TV with 3d capability (which i’ve not even tried yet – will update my review once I have), then look no further than here!
